Mentorship That Actually Works
Most mentorships start with good intentions, then quietly fade.
Through the CMAA mentor–mentee program, Michael Rood and Tyler Tang built something that didn’t. In this opening conversation, they’ll break down what makes a mentorship stick — from setting expectations early to asking better questions, staying engaged, and building a relationship that evolves over time.
Michael Rood, General Manager/COO of Seven Lakes Golf & Country Club, brings over 20 years of leadership experience across private clubs and residential communities with a focus on aligning people, culture, and strategy.
Tyler Tang, Director of Agronomy at The Club at Morningside, represents the next wave of leadership — blending technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach to sustainability, efficiency, and team development.
Designed for emerging leaders across industries, not just golf, this session offers practical insight, real perspective, and a clearer path to making mentorship actually work.
